Jane Bastin first visited Turkey over thirty years ago and is still there – mostly. She splits her life between the stresses of education in the UK and the west coast of Turkey. On the surface idyllic, she has watched as the chaos of the outside world has changed life.Uncontrolled building , bibilical processions of Syrian refugees, people-smuggling, large scale thefts of oregano and orchids to mass building of wind turbines are just a few of the many changes. Once her two children left for university, she began writing in earnest about this world.
